Abstract

In 2024, the Federal Administration focused on the Integrated Forest and Wood Strategy 2050. With the adoption of the Federal Act on a Secure Electricity Supply, Swiss voters also approved an amendment to the Forest Act. In parliament, 17 proposals were submitted that focused on wood as a resource and its use. This also resulted in a revision of the Forest Act. The Federal Supreme Court ruled on forest law issues six times in the reporting year. The article concludes with a scientific assessment of the forest policy processes based on selected issues and an outlook for the year 2025.
